Information on Equipping U
 

Equipping U. at Wildwood this Spring 2008!

Equipping U. exists to equip (through short modular courses) Wildwood members, attendees, and the extended Norman community to take the next step in their spiritual life and leadership development. The ultimate objective of Equipping U is to outfit folks to more effectively shine as L.I.G.H.T. in their home, their community, and the world.

Fast Facts Concerning Equipping U:

What is it? A venue to offer training to Wildwood members and the Norman community at large on a variety of topics.

Who is it for? Anyone. There is a range of courses offered from equipping in life and ministry skills to theology and leadership development. See the full list of courses at the end of this document.

When is it offered? Tuesday nights, beginning January 23rd from 7-9 pm. Classes will conclude in March.

What about my kids? There is free childcare provided, though registration is necessary. You can sign up by replying by email to jinaschrader@wildwoodchurch.org or by signing up on Sunday morning in the Gathering Hall.

Cost? Some courses are free, however, there may be material costs in other courses.

How do I sign up? Email jinaschrader@wildwoodchurch.org and sign up for any course, or sign up at the Equipping U. Table in the Gathering Hall on Sunday.

Is this a one time shot, or is Equipping U. around to stay? At this point, Equipping U. is set to roll through this entire year with another set of courses offered in the spring.

Want to Learn More About Wildwood or Become a Member? Join us at Starting Point

Instructors: Wayne Russell and Elder Mike Hargis

Learn More About Wildwood or Become a Member.  Are you new and wanting to know more information about the church? Have you been attending Wildwood for a while and desire to become a member? If either of these statements describes you, then join Wayne Russell and Elder Mike Hargis for a four week journey through Wildwood's history, values, beliefs, and ministries as you seek to find your place to worship, connect, and serve here at Wildwood!

Cost: Free
 

Preparing to say "I Do"

Instructor: Pastor Mark Robinson

This 8 week course is designed to help equip engaged couples for married life.  The course will be set up with some group discussion followed by weekly one on one times with a mentor couple.

Cost: $25 per couple

Answering the Tough Ones

Instructor: Mark Burget

Questions will be discussed and analyzed at Equipping U, and you will be trained on how to give a Biblical, I Peter 3:15 response "with gentleness and respect" to the toughest questions out there.

Material Costs: Free
 

Real World Parenting

Instructors: Pastor John Abernethy and Elder Stan Schuermann

Note:  This course meets from 7-8 pm only

The course is appropriate for those with any age children, but geared toward those with children 12 and under.

Material Costs: Free...the only cost is pizza night.
 

Your Unique Design

Instructors: Dave and Frances Sabatini

Do you know how God Has carefully shaped you to serve others. Nothing in our lives is an accident. God shapes each of us to effectively serve others. Dave and Frances Sabatini will lead us on the adventure to a better understanding of God's handiwork. Some time will be spent on each aspect of the acronym S-H-A-P-E, standing for Spiritual gift, Heart passion, Ability, Personality, and Experience. However, the bulk of our time will be invested in taking and unpacking the Servants By Design Personality profile. This amazing profile will provide fascinating insights into how you and others have been wired by God. Understanding your personality "condominium" will include what motivates you, your strengths, your blind spots, and your special abilities. Bring along your spouse or friend for this adventure journey!

Material Costs: $35 each person (a bargain from the regular price of $150)

Financial Peace University

Instructors: Tim and Ann Riley

This course runs 13 weeks.  Would you love to get out of debt?  Do you desire to be a better steward of the financial resources God has entrusted to you?  If so, then consider enrolling in (national radio host and best selling author) Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University course, facilitated at Wildwood by Tim and Ann Riley.  FPU covers financial principles from debt reduction to budgeting to insurance, and everything in between. 

Cost: $89 (scholarship assistance available if needed)
